Depressed about my success

I am apparently depressed about my success. I consider myself an intelligent person and with a good IQ but sometimes I think this is a delusion on my part. I wonder if I am actually a smart person but not a dumb person with average intelligence.
I think like that because although I went to the university and graduated well, I don’t seem to be having any success. A couple of jobs here and there that failed add to this. Poor business success also. A writing career that does not seem to ever take off. I get depressed about this. When you get to middle age, as I have, you tend to take stock of your life and ask yourself how you have fared. I think I will score myself an F.
Sometimes I blame myself; sometimes I blame others. I believe it’s just not reasonable on my part but what do I do?
Do you sometimes feel as I do?
It’s the start of another weekend. Hope you all see success this week.

We all have our ups and downs throughout life - you are not alone! I think we have to stay productive - keep active - with whatever goals we have. If one thing does not work, try another. We keep moving forward until we get there

it is all right to be depressed, but not too much because you might separate yourself from the realities of life, and that is not good

@mydanods oh, so you are therefore competing against another person? then depression sets in. but if you compete against yourself, then maybe the depression will not be so severe as against others. that will be envy and if you cannot do anything, you might resort to some psychological problems.

@mydanods Oh I was not saying that you would feel that way..Yes I am 62 now.
Doomed for me is my depression and I had not achieved completely what I needed to.
I had a good career until I got sick..so when I say doom I mean my depression.
I wish you the very best in life.
