When others dominate u?

Sometimes I feel that after some time your parents must leave u open after some time. This is because after some time I feel that my parents are trying to dominate me. I dont want to apply for a course in fine arts. But my mom is dominating me. She is not listening to me. She is forcing me. I am not happy with her. She is troubling me with her nonsense. Good for those who dont have such kind of dominance. How do u respond to your parent's dominance?

Follow where your passion lies. Parents are influenced most times by the perceptions they had about the job market when they were younger. Tell her with your chosen career, you can take care of yourself. She is domineering because she feels a need to protect you. Assure her that you can take care of yourself and you are not wasting your time.

I have never been dominated like that - parents never told me what to do at all. Just talk calmly and explain that this is your life and your future. Do not give up and stand your ground... good luck!

I told my mother that if she doesnt remove the high standards that she expects me live up to, from me, then I will have to remove myself from her life. And so I did. For six years I never saw or spoke to my mother.
