My son still leaves the lights on when he comes over.. Nothing changes!

So, my son moved out a few weeks ago, but wasn't able to take things all in one go, so left a lot here for now. Today, he messaged to ask if we were home (which is something I am still getting used to), to come pick up some more bits. He had the use of 2 of the bedrooms when here (as one was a Dj studio), and so has bits in both. Up he goes, lots of crashing and banging about (oh it's been soo quiet, but the banging was strangely calming), and then down with loads of bags and stuff. We have a chat, and off he goes laden down with bits to his car. As he goes back n forth he leaves the door wide open letting in all the cold air, and then half hour after he leaves I pop upstairs to find both the bedroom lights on! Nothing changes, but I DO miss him!

I felt the same way when I moved to the country and my son stayed in the city because of his job.

Thankfully that wouldn't irritate me, as long as they weren't kept on too long before being noticed and shut off. But I'd think that kind of calmness from the noise after one leaves is normal.
