An observation about cultural differences

When American people get angry at you, they hold up their middle finger with the back of their hand facing towards you. When English people get angry, they do the same thing, but with both the middle and pointer fingers. That's a full finger angrier than Americans. Does that mean English people feel anger more strongly than us? Or are they simply less afraid to show their true feelings in public?
