My daughter's terrible Saturday.

Last Saturday, my daughter was planning on going to a fashion show with a friend. She got all her clothes together and went to get in the shower. I heard a loud thump in the shower and loud cursing that didn't stop. I went to check and found that the bubbled tub liner that is in the tub to prevent slipping had slipped under as she got in and she fell into the tub.
While she was still showering, someone began ringing the doorbell repeatedly. I wasn't dressed, but before I could get dressed, she took off down the steps wrapped in a towel to find her friend had arrived early to pick her up. That was not the next problem, though.
After she was dressed, she and her friend left and, unknown to me until later, my daughter fell down the front steps on her butt, down both steps. So, she now had bruises to her shin and both butt cheeks.
Lastly, she was able to get a vintage upholstered wing-back chair, so we went to pick it up. After we picked it up, she got cash out of her purse to stop for food on the way home, but when she got to the drive-thru, she couldn't find the money. We tore the car apart, but no money. Turns out, she had put it in her lap and when we stopped to cover all the internal lights that wouldn't shut off because the trunk was open, the money had fallen out of the car and was blown away in the Nor'Easter we were still living. Of course, Mom was yelled at for not knowing it had been in her lap and stopping her from getting out of the car and losing it.
She had already thrown it away once and managed to recover it, but heck, it was still MY fault, right? I'm surprised the two falls weren't my fault as well.
Still, her day was pretty sucky.

Not your fault! But I do ger being frustrated and saying it is on her part because I've done that to my mom, when I've had my bank card under my leg and gotten out to shop but card was left on the seat..
Try not to let it bother you, if it is - of course. Hope shes not too pained from her falls.

I understand her striking out at me because I'm an easy target. I've done the same thing when I'm having a bad day. Most of the time I just let it roll off knowing that by the next day all steam will have been released. It's really not often that she says anything that hurts my feelings and that's only because I didn't know about how bad a day she was having at the time and it caught me by surprise.

Oh, I'm glad she didn't get badly injured, too. She's broken her ankle and her tailbone in the past with falls down stairs, so the fall out front could have done both. The one in the tub could have been far worse than it was. But, the chair she got for free softened the blow of the lost cash because it was worth at least that.
