How to handle kids in a restaurants?

I will see how a few that gets a barnepige and fades for a nice dinner will not be happy with rambunctious children at the next table. Father and mother should think about whether a specific setting is age or behavior appropriate for their children. When a child is trained with good table manners at home, it should convert to behavior in restaurants. I hate to see a blanket age coverage, as it unfairly discriminates against children that can take care of the restaurant setting. Right now there would not need to be a rule if people would use common sense, but then, sound judgment is not necessarily very common.

@off124 All 5 of my kids were brought up to behave themselves in public (and at home) and we were always able to take them to restaurants etc. It really irritates me when other parents just let their kids shout and run about and be a nuisance - not the children's fault at all, just bad parenting.

i try to pick restaurants that aren't known for having kids often. they don't have to leave, but i can and i will if there's a bunch out of control.
