Overplayed Classic Rock Songs I'm Not Sick of (Yet): Godzilla (#10)

For yet more shocks, I'm adding to my countdown of #1 songs through the first 25 years of my life with this. There are songs that are, quite frankly, played to death on "classic FM rock" stations. I don't listen to it anymore (unless I'm in a car with someone [it's impolite to change someone else's radio station ] or in a restaurant where it's playing), so I don't hear these songs eleven times a day the way one would if they did listen to classic rock all day. SPOILER ALERT: "Stairway to Heaven" is not on this list. The only "Stairway to Heaven" I want to hear is Neil Sedaka's. With that, here's the first overplayed song that I'm not sick of....yet. #10: Godzilla - Blue Öyster Cult I think one of the reasons I don't get sick of this song is because it's so freaking funny. "He picks up a bus and he throws it back down as he wades through buildings toward the center of town." Poor Tokyo. Where's Ultraman when you need him? Plus, in the middle of the song, they include a bulletin ("I will post extraordinary news, Godzilla is heading toward Ginza, please evacuate soon!") -- in Japanese.
