I give blankets as gifts also. I just finished 4 baby blankets in the last 3 months. I have a lot of patten books so they all look different. I also make stocking and Christmas tree skirts. It keeps me from eating while I'm watching TV.

I don't like to knit. I know how, and have made a few things, but I just don't enjoy it... My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 5 and knit when I was about 10. I just like to crochet more. I tend to knit loose and crochet tight - just the opposite of what you are supposed to do. That does not work well with making clothes, I always have to adjust my hook, so I mostly stay with afghans and stuff.

I love to crochet too. I have been making scarves to give as Christmas gifts. There's one blanket I started last year with the intent of giving it to a friend for Christmas. I'm not sure why, but I never finished it. I found it the other day and I only need to finish the border for it to be done, so I'll give it to her this year (after very gently washing it, since it's been sitting in a bag for so long). In addition to crocheting while I watch TV, I love to take it on family trips and crochet while my husband drives. I also like to read on the road, but I am able to chat with my husband if I crochet instead.

Hahahaha, I have taken many a blanket on the road to work on in the car. I also have an unfinished blanket... I started it eons ago and am probably half way done. It's using an afghan hook so it's very heavy and hurst my hands, so I can't work on it too long. It's for my sister, she knows it coming, maybe next year...

I've been promising my fiance a blanket for about 4 years now, but have never quite gotten around to it. It's pretty time consuming to make blankets, and I usually try to keep up on keeping my online store stocked. Eventually I'll actually stick to my promise, though. In the mean time, he's just going to have to enjoy the beanie and gloves i've made him. :)
