Sometimes even as a Christian, I find it hard at times to believe some of the bible stories like how the world came to be and its content,it always a bit confusing and bogus.Do you believe in most of the bible stories?Do you think there actually happened?

Yes, it's true that Bible stories are really confusing sometimes it's really hard to believe all the events that happened that time but I know God has a reason why did he have to make the bible stories mysterious and unbelievable because he said that only those people who believe in him will be saved. So I guess he wants us to have a free will if we want to believe in him or not.

God made the Bible stories mysterious? I can't believe it. The Bible was written by human beings, not by God. A lot of scrolls with the original texts can be seen in the main museum in Jerusalem. You can believe me. I was there and saw them.

@augusta123 I don't understand your question. I can only repeat what I've already written. The Bible was written by human beings, not by God. God didn't sit down at a desk and compose the books about Moses, for example. Such an idea is absurd. Some religious people who could write wrote down the texts.

@MALUSE Are you saying the bible isn't written the way it should have been?

I believe that they happened. There are some scientific and archeological discoveries. Like Hezekiah's Tunnel water tunnel, Roman coin discovered in Jerusalem where you can see the face of Julius Caesar on it etc.

The story where Moses and the Israelites crossed the Red Sea is also true. Scientists found more evidence of chariot wheels in the Red Sea.

I believe the bible. I think it is possible though that the great flood was regional. It is possible that the world to these people didn't extend beyond the horizon. I think this because right into the dark ages people thought the world was flat. I don't see how thinking that might lesson the message or the story given to us by the bible. God is goodness.

You don't have to believe the stories literally. They're parables. How could the story of Noah and the Ark have happened? That's nonsense, of course. The story is about a pious man and his doubts and how he was saved in the end. To make it more dramatic, all the animals which were known when the Bible was written were included. I've found a site which may interest you:
We need to read the story of the Flood through the lens ofitsoriginal audience, not modern scientific concerns.

No we are told there are stories that really happened so that's the confusion, if there were put this way,yea sure it understandable but as a Christian one has to believe in the real story not this way

@augusta123 Of course, they weren't fed literally. They were fed with God's word so-to-speak. If you're really interested in the deeper meaning of the Bible texts, you can find symbolic interpretations on the internet.

@MALUSE sure I totally agree with you,if we are to go by what the pastors tell us, then we will be looking like lost sheep. The stories are just too bogus. Feeding of 5000 people story readily comes to mind

Yes I do. I do not doubt for a bit, regardless if the stories were true or not. For one, it is indeed true that the Bible was written to give us Christians the guide we need in our everyday lives. Second, the Bible is a book wherein it contains all the kinds of genres. Third, it is mysterious that until now made people divided simply because they have different versions of what the Bible is all about. Now, I do not want people questioning why I believe in a book whose contents might not be even true at all. I am after the message, the lesson and the fact that it has withstood time. And in all eternity, the Bible had proven itself. Some self-righteous people just want to find flaws about it.

@augusta123 hmmm... that is a tough question. It may or may, not but to be honest, I do believe in them if we are to emphasize the miracles that Jesus showed.

I do believe in them. We must understand some of the stories told were allegories. Then faith is what should make you not doubt those stories. The whole essence of Christianity is based on faith

If you take the stories literally you will miss the true intention behind them. Read them like parables pointing to truth.

@franxav This is what I'm trying to tell the members. But obviously, I can't get through to them.

So the story about the great flood is a parable right?
