Sale

Happy Sunday to all of us! How is everyone? Today is the last day of the 3-days nationwide sale in one of the largest supermall here in the Philippines, SM (Shoe Mart). This is the newest supermall that I have been discussing about. After the 9:30AM mass, I and my sister went there to buy a pair of pants and shorts for my son. (Actually it was my sister who requested that we go there). Visiting 3 stores and comparing the prices, I thought the trousers were still expensive despite the 30% discount. So we decided to leave and go to a smaller department store, where I found a pair of denim pants and 2 pairs of shorts for my son. I and my sister agreed that even though there was a sale in almost all stores in the super mall, the items were still costly because “we are paying for the spaces and stalls of the stores”. The brand of the denim pants I bought for my son is Hammerhead and it was priced 40% discount. The salesperson also said if the size and measurement of the pants is smaller or bigger for my son, I can exchange it for the right measurement. It is good the pants fit well to my son. Is there a big sale in your malls or department stores now?

Wasn't there a big crowd? I like sales but crowd sometimes scares me.

the mall was full of people and the possibilities of pickpockets are high as well.

@ridingbet There are no pickpockets here. I guess they make shopping a not so good program.

We usually have sales during big season changes, as stores want to get rid of the "old stuff". We also must be careful because some sellers increase the original price so the discounted price will be the same as the previous original price. Some people don't pay attention to the price, but to the SALE sign.

yes that is so true. there was a post on FB about an item that is previously priced at P1k+ and then when the sale was announced, it has a discount of only a peso, like P999.00

where is this? The SM near our place is not yet on sale. Usually it will be on the April 15th payday

@ridingbet yes that is true but they have schedules here in Manila. You are right even though they are sale some of the prices are still high. There was one time I bought some stuff on yellow tag price. When I came home out of curiosity, I removed the yellow tag to find out that the original price is the same as the yellow tag. I was fooled.

I'm glad you were able to find a good price for pants for your son. I haven't looked to see if there are, but with Easter getting close, I'm sure there is or will be.
