Have you ever had your items stolen?

Hello, everyone! Today an elderly woman was sitting next to me on the bus. I noticed that she was using an old smartphone which my sister had some years ago. Looking at this smartphone, I remembered an episode that happened to me around seven years ago. I and my sister went somewhere together, and she put her phone in my bag. In the bus, someone opened my bag and took neither my wallet, nor my phone, but my sister's phone! I checked my bag only after we left the bus, so my sister's phone was gone. I still feel very bad about it. We were just teenagers, many people might have seen it, but nobody helped. I have always been very careful outside since my childhood, but it happened. Have you ever had your items stolen? Will you do anything if you see a theft?

Yes I have but it was my own fault. I was at a club and dancing with my friends. I put my bag down in a dark corner thinking that no one would see it but when I went back to get it, it was gone. It was found in the toilets but all my money and my perfume had gone. I took more care of my possessions after that,

@MashaVickina Yes I was very upset at the time but I had no one to blame but myself for leaving my bag lying around.

@sprite1950 Do not blame yourself, those people should be blamed as because of them we cannot feel safe

I put my rucksack between my feet in a bus in Rome, Italy, because there were many people in it and I couldn't keep it on my back. I needed my hands to hold myself at the bars above the passengers' heads. A gypsy woman who was sitting on the steps of the middle entrance stole my wallet out of my rucksack. I didn't notice it when it was happening but understood it afterwards.

@MashaVickina I think nobody noticed it because my rucksack was at my feet and people rarely look down in a bus.

I experienced once with my sister when we were in a public transport. Her bag was stolen which includes our digi-cam. Lucky my sister saw the face of the thief and she realized she knew him. We went straight to the place of that thief and reported him to the police.

@MashaVickina No, it was not retrieved because the thieves sold it on the night we were robbed. But the family paid us.

Got my old Nokia phone stolen to me at knife point. It pays to be extra careful whenever one is out in the streets.

A guy stole our 4-wheel ATV, but God blessed us with a brand new one from the insurance company! Did your sister ever get her phone back?

Actually it's a very long story. One day while going in a bus on my way to returning from office, the lady sat beside me stole my cellphone. When I started to look for it, she also pretend to search for me. The crowd gathered me. The lady gave her bag and asked me to search in it. First few times, I asked no I don't need it as I trusted her. But as others insist me to check her bag and I dd so. I found my phone in her bag. While others started shouting on her, she gave the excuse that I might have put the mobile in her bag as both the bags were looking almost same. However, the driver and the conductor supported her. So, I didn't fight and shut my mouth.

Never trust anyone whom you see for the first time... Good that people near you insisted
