Day by Day

Just taking things day by day. Feeling a little stronger, but not overdoing it. Yesterday, folded clothes, did dishes and made supper, that is all I had in me. Today cleaned the bathroom, did dishes and making supper now and I'm so tired. Amazing how much surgery and anemia can just suck the life right out of you. I haven't been in any real pain thou so for that Im thankful. So other then doing the above just been working on getting Tess caught in school, don't know if we will or not. Just so much junk they are having them do. Common core so needs to go, and nobody needs to do a report/essay every week. She is so bored with what they are doing I think it is going in one ear and right out the other. It will be what it will be thou this year I guess, not going to kill myself over this. It is still cold here, only in the 30's with snow still on the ground, next week we are suppose to be moving up to the 40's .. lol Again taking it day by day .. just want to go out for a walk thou. So how is it where you live and how are you doing?

Ease back to normalcy. Maybe your kid is too advanced for whats being taught.

I'm taking it easy .. I think she might be for some classes but not for some others. like Math and the common core, we just don't get. She can do it the old fashion way thou. Some she is just bored and they keep doing the same thing every year and then she is like just over it. lol Some things take her longer to get too but once she does she has it. She is a mixture. lol

I'm glad you aren't in pain, I didn't have any after surgery either. But I did feel tired and lacked energy. Sorry Tessa isn't liking her schooling, she will be glad when summer vacation gets here. Our weather is still cold, but above freezing today. The sun was beautiful, but it didn't warm things up.

No pain is nice, haven't used the binder for days and sleeping on my side some, that is great! lol The bad thing is once she gets it she has it, but they go so fast thru things that we get behind, so she has all A's and B's but I'm afraid she will fail from that. I sucks that is for sure. Still in the 30's here.

@Ithink If she's learning something new, speeding through those lessons shouldn't be important to them! She needs to have time enough to gasp onto those things:(

@kobesbuddy That is what I tell them but they follow a lesson plan and that is that. It sucks.

If that is all you can do right now, then, that is all you do. Time is a healer, don't forget. Hope that you can sleep better.

Just a little but getting there, hoping more and more as time goes by. Yes this weather really needs to go away, so tired of the cold. Would love to go for a walk even if it could only be a small one.

for next year is the option open for Tess to go to public or private school? Be careful and do not rip yourself open. Its cool here for the past few days 50`s days and 30 nights. we were 70-80 days and 50`s nights, next week we will be waem again. I am over worked and unpaid. Some days I want to give up but I dont.

She doesn't want to go back to this public school and I wouldn't want her too, this school district is not good at all. No private schools around us. I'm being careful only do a little at a time and not hard stuff. I just wish our weather would get more Spring like, I would love to go for a walk! Giving up is not an option for me either.

Its in the fifties now, but is supposed to get up into the seventies. I am just glad that the wind hasn't been blowing today. It has blown all week and I wasn't so much a fan. I work today, and then probably will do a little bit of grocery shopping before going home.

Does she have to do the common core curriculum, or can you choose what to teach her and how to teach it? I don't see the point of common core, it's not like any colleges use that method. When I was in school they kept changing how we had to do math, so it got confusing and boring and I finally just gave up on it. My adult life is not effected in the slightest by not knowing algebra or trigonometry. It's been cooler here, but should be warming up again soon. We're supposed to have days in the 50s/60s and nights in the 30s/40s...which is unseasonably cool for this time of year.

No there isn't a choice. I know her teacher isn't a fan of mine, I wont make Tessa do it their common core way. Even write on the work when it is turned in that We don't understand the common core, why make something harder and so many more steps hence harder. That she can do it the "RIGHT" way and that I'm good with that. Tessa does it the old way on the homework and the answers are there, we get back that she can not be given credit because it wasn't done their way. Whatever, she still has a B so. We are still in the 30's *sigh*

@Srbageldog Yep that is basically what we are told, and I'm with you!! If you cant come up with the right answer their way how is that to work? Just stupid if you ask me.

@Ithink My math teacher pulled that in high school, said that it didn't matter that I had the right answer, I had to do it HER way, even if I didn't get the right answer. I never understood that logic. It had something to do with showing the ability for critical thinking, but what is the purpose of learning math if you aren't going to get the right answer? Why does it matter HOW you do it, as long as the answer is correct?

It is hot here. I am drained out of energy. Still a lot of things to be done. This is what we call life.
