I cleaned the oregano plants.

I thought I had lots of dry oregano. But either we used it or it is there (somewhere) where we will find it when we don´t need it. The fresh oregano was almost buried by weeds. Fortunately, they are hardy. Still, today I got as much as I could weeds with their strong roots and then let water flow. Tomorrow I will dig a little more to see if some weeds have hidden between the oregano leaves. I have several oregano plants (where I live they are perennials) and I cut leaves and dry them. That way I have the fresh leaves for some uses and dry ground leaves for some dishes. Do you have a herb garden?

I wish I could manage to keep them alive! So now I just buy the fresh cut herbs as I need them (I do throw fresh thyme and oregano in hot water for tea quite often these days).

Nope, we don't have herb plants though we have some plants on our balcony. Oregano is a herbal medicine here.

@rheicel Oregano is the reason why Canned spaghetti sauce have a different taste than regular tomato sauce. I find it weird that in the Philippines, oregano and basil are nothing but herbal medicines and Avocado is a dessert.

@marguicha They usually boil the leaves and drink it's like a tea. They're going to use it if they have a common cold and cough.

I don't have a garden here. Most of people live in an apartment only, especially in the city. It is so nice that you have a garden that grows different kinds of herbs. It is so fantastic! You can have fresh herbs to cook. I can only buy the dried herbs from supermarket.

I have oregano all year. But if I lived where winter is harsh, I´d place it containers.
