The 2018 class of Country Music Hall of Fame members has been announced. I'm delighted!!
The Musician inductee is the late Johnny Gimble, a world-renown fiddler who played with everyone from Bob Wills in the 40s to George Strait in the 80s.
The Modern Era inductee is Ricky Skaggs, the great multi-instrumentalist and country/bluegrass performer whose career started at the age of 7 on a Flatt & Scruggs TV show.
The Veterans Era inductee is Dottie West, the late singer/songwriter who has the distinction of being the first female Grammy winning country singer. Her song "Country Sunshine" was used as a Coke commercial for years, giving her added exposure.
What a terrific class of legendary performers!!! Congratulations to Ricky Skaggs, and to the family and fans of the late Dottie West and Johnny Gimble!

I heard a loud shout from McMinnville, Tennessee (where Dottie was from, and is buried).

@FourWalls Well, he did write 500 songs. He is like a Steve Garvey. Above average but not HOF status. But perhaps veteran's committee as there are probably similar careers in.

I'm a country music fan, but I've never heard of any of these people. But they must be pretty special to get inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
