Who remembers how their life was before cell phones, before social media, before internet took over? How did you spend your time then compared to now?

Watching Cable TV most of the time when cartoons were a bit better and so as HBO. At the same time I was also busy with the Play station 1 and PC desktop.

I was born in the 60's so I saw the evolution of computers, video games, cell phone the internet... My life before that was fairly active in an outdoorsy kind of way. Riding bikes, hiking, skiing, swimming... Not too much has changed except that I am older and slowing down as internet speeds and technology accelerate. :-)

More than half my life was before cell phones, computers (at least easily accessible ones) and social media. I used to type on a big clunky black typewriter, and if you wanted a copy you used carbon paper. You had to be very careful, because mistakes could not be corrected easily. At one time I worked in the publicity department of a TV studio. We were just preparing for colour TV to come in! Part of my job there involved putting out a weekly TV magazine. I had to do the headlines with Letraset (do you remember Letraset? The letters were on a kind of waxed paper, and you had to rub over them to transfer them to the paper where you wanted them.) If we wanted to communicate with someone, the choice was the telephone (old dial system) or a letter through the post - or, if it was really urgent, a telegram. At-home entertainment options were TV, a board game, or a book. Ah yes, it was a different era.

I usually spent my free time reading books and magazines, listening to radio and cooking. Those were the days of my innocence.I'll say internet has negative impacts but I appreciate it for improving communications and making informations available to the public.
