Groceries - package sizes

After months of watching the packages (chips, canned goods, etc.) get smaller yet the prices stay the same, today I saw where Lays has increased the size of their bags of chips. 20% more and the price was the same. I think every time I walk into the grocery store prices have gone up .... *again*. Has anyone else noticed this too?

Oh yea! But do wages go up so we can keep up with these increases? What an economy we have. Lets not forget about fresh vegetables and fruits! The prices are outrageous. I find myself buying more frozen and canned lately. The flavor and quality is not the same, but we can't afford to buy fresh every day.

I personally havent noticed a price increase lately... but I hate grocery shopping... I can go atlease once a week and easily spend 100$ each time.. it kills me I wish I could live on a farm and be self sufficent.. but still have the option for the good things like ben and jerrys lol. and sierra mist. Sometimes I dont know how the people who decide to price things to eat so high can sleep at night... seems crazy.. especially when the generic/store brand can be almost 60% less. but oh well... everyone will keep doing what we do lol..

Some of the generic things are good, but some are just nasty and I buy the name brand. Yes, we've all got to eat and they know that!

Yes, I have. Everything is starting to have less in it. I wonder if that is their way of cutting costs without having so many people complain. They think we won't notice. With the price of gas, they have to do something, I guess. I just wish our pay would go up some to.

It seems like everything goes up BUT wages! I love fresh fruit and yes, it is more expensive. On the veggies, I've found it's just as economical to buy the frozen corn as the canned corn and it tastes better!

I noticed the "super sized" bag of lays the other day. I am so thankful that, as a military spouse, I get the pleasure of shopping at the commissary. The savings are remarkable. We pay for the priveledge in non-monetary ways, but it's a good benefit.

I understand it's quite a savings. By the way, I support our military and our troops! Thanks for your response.
