I think there are many things which we do in life and on daily which affects our Body be its bad or Good for us. We breath, we drink water, juices and other such tonics which are good for our health and some drink Alcohol and Smoke as well. I heard from some that Wine and other such drinks have some benefits as well but what about Smoking then, If it does not have any benefit then why some smoke? Your thoughts, please.

When I was young smoking was very fashionable and the harm it caused hadn't really been picked up on by the media. We knew it wasn't good for us but the attitude then was "well you gotta die of something!" We knew it harmed unborn babies and many of us gave up then. I haven't smoked for 37 years now.

@thesupersingh I don't know if people ever mean to carry on smoking, they start off by just trying it and then become addicted.

There several reasons for smoking. Habit, relaxing, stress, nicotine high.

@thesupersingh Maybe someone else that they looked up to smoked and so they started the habit. Maybe they are on a diet and have to find something besides eating so smoke. I do not smoke and have no idea and these are just guesses on my part.

@thesupersingh Very very true. What I hate is those that smoke in front of me and I have to inhale their smoke.

Both my parents smoked, but I never really took to it. I might have gone through two packs total when I was a teenager, but fortunately never became addicted. I absolutely can't see the point of it, and it is such an expensive habit, particularly here in Australia ... and that's before we even begin to talk about the health problems.
