Pardon me, for I do not wish to stir for a fight with church people, or those who profess to serve, their religiosity unquestioned, but here's Pope Francis, all in good humor, telling exactly what I am so disgusted about the people who call themselves Mother Butler, or Catechism instructors, or whatever. When you serve, do it for our Lord. not as a ground for hunting for gossips to betray other people. Indeed, gossip is an act of terrorism.
This will definitely make you laugh. But it's a great reminder from Pope Francis too!

@silvermist Talking is actually good. I, for one, loves to talk, and I make strangers friends because of talking. But the cardinal rule when the tongue is utilized, speak only the truth.

There's nothing wrong with what Pope Francis had said. It does happen from all walks of life. Neither you are a Catholic, a Protestant, Angelican or whatever religion. It's the truth of life that people can judge people. It's sad that sometimes that those who are closer to the church does this thing but it doesn't follow to all. That is why when we serve God we have to focus on Him alone, otherwise we will end up frustrated. Not all who preach live by their words. Religion can't save us, it will be our Faith and Good deeds. So Let's not judge anyone. Our Father in heaven will judge each one of us the way we do our part here on earth.

The Ten Commandments was given for us to live by. If people disobey God's Law, we can judge them erring. Thus, repentance is in order.

@chavezrmc By and large, when our lives are over, we stand right up for judgment. There is no escaping judgment. "Be not afraid.: That is what our Master said time and again. Let us not be afraid. If we judge someone erring, we are actually helping that person to find the way back.

I liked what the priest had said. What is gossip and why is it bad. People do talk about things and other people. Is that bad? No I don't think so and not what the pope was referring to. Lies are gossip.

Gossip is an untrue story spread around. In other words, the story is false. A false story about a person could affect the credibility of that person in the community. Worse, the false story could affect the morale of the person himself or herself, and may be detrimental to his or her being. Gossip, therefore, is a bomb killing us.

@Bluedoll Oh no! Really? I do hope no one in my friends' list do that. How bad you must have felt when the gossip ensued. I have been a subject of gossip, too. Did hurt but what can I do? Anyway, I allowed the gossip mongers to have their thing, and strangely, some things untoward came their way. I think it is the Law of Karma. Nowadays, I am never bothered by the cheap talk.

I don't know about your acquaintances but in mine, many have transcended into a serene realm as they grew older in communion with God. That is why I have kept the aged company these past few years, I discovered that through fervent prayers and deep meditation, they do become holy and self-sacrificing.
