I see a lot of celebrities do this and the lady is a bit confident about the marriage that this might deter the man from cheating though it doesn't work most times,do you think signing of prenups is actually necessary. I'm yet to be married so I don't how important this is? What are your thoughts?

I do think prenup agreements are a good thing. Too many gold diggers in this world marry for what they can get rather than love. A prenup won't stop someone cheating and if someone truly loves you they would be happy to sign it. My partners brother was deeply in love while his so called wife was bleeding him dry. She was the one cheating, she was the one who accessed his pension account and emptied it, took out countless credit in his name. He had to sell the house etc. Now she wants a ridiculous settlement as the divorce goes through!

Before my husband and I get married I asked him if he wants me to sign a prenupital agreement since he has some properties and I don't, I just have a small land that I brought when I am still single but he refuse the prenup. According to him it makes no sense and whatever he has will be mine too. After all we both want to spend the rest of lives together.

I think a lot of celebrities and other rich people sign prenups because they honestly think divorce is in the future and they are trying to protect their assets. My husband and I are not rich , when we got married, we truly said we don't believe in divorce and that we would be married for life so we signed no prenup.

I think prenups are common for those rich people who wanted to protect their money and properties from their partners who will abuse their fortune. But for ordinary people prenups is not a big issue.

I am actually against pre-nups, however, there are reasons as to why the prenup is made.

@Berrygal usually it is about the money. People, especially the rich ones, they protect their money. They have agreements regarding that. Others may be regarding the children (if ever they have children), when someone cheats. Usually those things.

In my personal view, anyone who feels they need to sign a prenup regardless of financial status, is not truly in love. Divorce is imminently on the horizon for that couple. :-)
