This is a Martin Scorsese movie, released two years ago, but was not shown in the local cinemas.
Because of the title, I did ask my daughter to play it, we were trying our very best to keep our quiet on Black Saturday.
It turned out, the movie entails a powerful true story about Jesuits sent to Japan in the sixteen hundredths. Japan, as we know, is a predominantly Buddhist country. The Japanese, as we know, are a gentle people who could be cruel if their way of life is threatened.
Thus, in the movie, the punishment for being Christians were torture physical and mental, and ultimately death.
The predominant image that was done in several scenes was the stepping on the image of Christ, to pronounce to witnesses the apostasy from the faith.
Thus, my predictable query to fellow Christians, especially Catholics:
Would you apostate under the pain of death?
Or, would you apostate to save a life, or many lives?

That is a tough one. I would do the second one. If renouncing a belief means saving the lives of others, then I would. I sacrifice my faith in order to prevent others from being killed. Many wont understand but I am willing to give up if many will be saved. Let me be the pawn so others will be alive.

Got me into serious thought battle. The silence couldn't be the correct solution, could it?
