The idea of children reading books to therapy dogs so that students can learn to improve their reading skills without the fear of being lampooned by their fellow students is growing in leaps and bounds in Indianapolis Indiana.
Third to sixth graders at Eleanor Skillern School 34 used their Spring Break vacation by reading over 400 hours during the two week vacation time to therapy dogs.
20 students won a lottery drawing to read books to dogs named Spot and Rover at the school.
The best part of the 20 students who had the pleasure of reading books to the two dogs was enjoying a pizza party during lunch time.
There is hope for our nation's school system where children read books to therapy dog either in libraries or schools.

I never heard or read something like this. But it's awesome that a dog can really be of help just listening to this students. If this can help students then it should go on.

I agree with you since both parties win. The dog gets to be loved by kids. The kids learn how to read without the fear of being lampooned by their fellow students.
