2009 – Spoiler alerts Stars Aidan Quinn, and Connie Neilson. Not a full review as I gave up on this rubbish after about half an hour. It is an incredibly contrived movie, sickly sweet, like eating 20 chocolate bars in one rush. It is also over-powering in it’s forced Irishness, lots of blarney, eccentric characters, dancing jigs and reells, etc. It run like a St Patrick’s Day nightmare. I felt patronized. Plot – a young troubled, bullied orphan is adopted by a breezy woman who lives on an island, shouts at rainbows, jumps in puddles and comes across as unbearably nice. The island also has a seal colony that cheers the boy up whenever he feels lonely (the seals later save him from drowning, Flipper style). When his new mum dies, the other islanders rally round to cheer the boy up. Somehow I find a movie simplistic to the point of insulting when it suggests that if you are unhappy you move to an isolated community and mush over baby seals and all your troubles melt away. Doesn't sound like a movie I would rush out to see.

I remember this film, I bought it for my Mama so she could see the scenery once again.

I saw this one. Non-memorable but harmless.
