How can we be sure that we really love someone?

One of my colleagues often tell me about her friend with whom she has met only once but talked daily to him over phone. When I asked her, does she love him, she replied negatively. But, whenever she says anything about him, her face glows. If that guy is unhappy, she too becomes unhappy. Yet, she is not ready to confess that she is in love with him. I think she is confused about this relationship?
What do you think what's the way of making sure that we really love a person?

When you can actually see yourself spending every single day with that person, taking care of them when they are sick. Knowing that if you ever hate them you can love them again. Knowing you can laugh after every argument. And just looking at them and saying You don't regret a day a being with them. Love is a crazy chemical reaction, but it sure is fun. I wish her the best.

When you accept all of his weaknesses, love him unconditionally and you will never ask him to love you in return..

When you accept everything about that person and want nothing but that person's betterment.
