Do we have to pay for Facebook?

A friend sent me a message that in the future we'll have to pay for Facebook. And we have to send that message to 20 people. If not, our account will be inactive. I think it's a lie. But I can't understand the purpose of this lie. This message didnt't have a link. I think it wasn't a virus. It's weird. Have you received such a message?

I received such message but never tried to open it. But yes, I believe they do not contain virus.

No I haven't but I think it should be the other way round Facebook should pay us
