The Colorado Avalanche took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission and held on for the win, beating the Nashville Predators 5-3 in game three of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Nashville leads the series 2-1. Nathan MacKinnon scored twice, including the game winner, in a feisty, chippy game. The Avalanche controlled most of the contest, and withstood intense third period pressure by Nashville for the victory. The Avalanche have played well in the series, for a young team with very little playoff experience, and it was nice to finally get a win against the defending Western Conference Champions. The Av's, however, do need to figure out the Predators' aggressive penalty kill, and have to start winning crucial faceoffs.
