For what purpose?

. I purchased this small piece of land 14 years ago in order to get two families out of the squaters area.. But they slowly turned this land into a rubbish dump.. What they did is only to take advantage of the free money and of what they could get out of the land..It's very clear now that they never really cared about the time and effort and the good intention we had for them..They corrupted our genuine good intention.. But it's all my fault for volunteering to help.. We are very grateful to our new caretaker for helping us clear the rubbish accumulated. He truly did more than what we expected of him to do..Now that the trees are happy again, my enormous guilt for allowing them to abuse the land is slowly going away..I am very grateful for this guilt being lifted off my shoulders.. For the first time, I feel the real peace and tranquility this small corner of Mother Nature provides.. The real purpose is still not clear. But I'd like to think that there is a higher purpose for all of these things we do and planning to do over there and not just so we can enjoy our retirement.. But for now, we will continue to enjoy this corner by loving and caring for it for as long as we can..Hoping that when we are are no longer in this life, some others will continue to care for it and value it and benefit from it's generosity.. I hope they feel the love of Mother Nature and the love we put into it.. And most of all, I hope they would feel as grateful as we are for the privilege.. Have you ever experienced doing things for a purpose, and then to end up wondering for what purpose?.. Bess.

I think so I did, Bess. I help people without them knowing that I helped them. Maybe I sometimes wonder why am I like that? I ponder about what I did and if this is what I wish to do. So I do not know if that makes sense but I have always been secretive when it comes to helping others.

It feels better if we are the one giving than the one receiving .. because it means that we are not struggling in life .. I was programmed or should I say brainwashed to give.. So all my life, I pushed aside my own needs ..I also realised that the others were programmed or brainwashed to receive .. they have this enormous sense of entitlement that they believe they are giving me a favour by taking and taking and taking from me without showing any gratitude .... lol ... .

@epiffanie That is very true. I do not know how others are able to have the face to keep on receiving without a hint of gratitude. One example I know are my cousins on the mother side. They keep asking for this and that and then they think they can get away with disrespecting my parents.

@mlgen1037 on my recent travel back there , I met a few who had similar experiences to mine... they were taken advantage of big time but not the same way as I was used and abused by my own siblings.. discredited, and mocked .. it was like a nightmare.. But I am wide awake now..

Is that your land In Sorsogon now. Wow, it's beautiful and seemed so peaceful and fresh to live there. I can see that there are coconut trees. Does your caretaker know how to get a young coconut? Young coconuts are so delicious to eat.

This is very nice place. Sometimes I think that some people do not deserve nice things.

and where are these two families that you wanted to help? Are they still living in the land? I understand your good intention but some people tend to abuse the help they get from other people. It is just sad that they did just that. They should have grateful for the shelter that they have. I hope your care taker will take good care of your land. It is is a nice place. I always want to have a piece of land in a province where you can enjoy growing old.

Unfortunately, there are people who were born to take ... Fortunately though, there are also people who are born to give ..

I like your last questions.. Once upon a time we have purpose and somewhere along the line we forgot about it.. But sometimes, we also just doing something just because we can and we want to. No reason and purpose needed.

I think our purpose changes with time and circumstances .. But , what is important is that we continue to find purpose..

@april_ang Do you sometimes wonder what the real purpose for us being here on this planet?.. Why do we desire to keep on living when we know that our life would end anyway?.. Life is a tease isn’t it?.. We’re all born to die..

@epiffanie yes.. And sometimes purpose is the drive to move forward.. Either we find it in the beginning or in the middle of doing something, at the end we'll get what we deserve..

That's a beautiful piece of land. It can be a great relief whne something that seems headed for disaster turns around and becomes something wonderful.
