Rebar Arch for a Climbing Rose.

I found a 25 foot long - 1/2 inch reinforcement steel bar along the bottom edge of the back fence, just laying there, taking up dirt and not good for anything. so I decided I needed an ARCH for my climbing rose as it was really getting out of control and growing all over the place in every possible direction.
I was able to soak the ground on each end where I forced the ends of the rebar about a foot or so in each end to make a half circle, or arch, that has a height of about 6 feet or so at the center, highest point of the arch. I then used cotton string to train the rose over the arch and then using hemp rope, I secured the rebar arch to a few lines of the rope to a pole once used for a back yard clothes line. Can you remember when back yards came with a pair of T shaped pipes for running about 6 lines of wire to hang clothes out to dry? Well, this was back in the 40s and 50s, long before even I was born.
The pic I have here was taken today. It's not the best rose but it has bloomed better this year and is about 10 years old or older so pretty good since the ground is basically black gumbo soil.
The rose was planted years ago and I just kept it watered and cultivated at the bottom near the roots and added compost every fall. It seems to be a quite hardy rose and fortunately the wind gusts of last week didn't harm it due to the fact the buds were not in bloom yet. Now if the winds get a bit crazy around Dallas, those roses pedals might fly away with the wind. So taking a picture of it keeps it on record for me to look at and share.
For more ideas like mine, just read the article from the link below.

You can make this garden trellis from just $25 of steel rebar. And you won’t have to weld a thing. We’ll show you how to bend the arches and attach the deco

I would be delighted to see that rebar archway, Anthony. It would be stunningly beautiful.
