Wasn't that a party, in the words of the Irish Rovers. Yeah, I was off yesterday, painting the town various colors. Now that I've posted bail for my vandalism
I'll give you another song with a very short title that's on my list of favorites. Here's the next song.
#7: She - Gram Parsons
Sometimes I wonder if we'd love and respect Gram Parsons as much as we do in the land of Americana and country-rock if he'd lived. They say death is a great career move (there was even a spoof of that fact on a Showtime music special in the early 80s, where Andy Summers was asked to fake his death in order to make the Police a bigger group). You think about the people who died so early in life in that short period of the early 70s (Janis, Jimi, Morrison) and you see what I mean.
But then I listen to songs like this, from the only solo album released in Parsons' lifetime, and think we'd love this guy if he had lived to be 87 (he'd only be 71 if he were still living). Man, what a song.
She
Written by Gram Parsons and Chris Ethridge
Recorded by Gram Parsons
From GP, 1973
Oh, but she sure could sing:

Seemingly everyone cites him as a huge influence.
By the way, the BoDeans are coming to a club in Denver for two shows, the second of which is already sold out. I have a feeling that the first show is also going to sell out before I can even get a chance to try to swing getting tickets.
