This is so sad. I believe guns have their place, but I also believe people need to be responsible. You don't just leave guns around when you have children. The article indicates that they do not know the what condition the mother is in. This toddler will one day know that she shot her mother in the chest. On top of that, if her mother does not make it, she will be devastated for life.
The woman's boyfriend was arrested for allegedly leaving the gun in the car.
