I was in Switzerland a few years ago taking a stroll by the Lucerne Lake. And there I spotted a child may be three years old or less sobbing away. The mother in me made me approach her and I tried to strike a conversation. But I was shocked when she brushed me aside and said 'Mind your own business" I was not angry but was amused and charmed when those words came from her. I did wonder however whether this little one could have picked that up from her parents

Those words came in quite handy for her when you tried to start a conversation.

If an adult said it there would have been an exchange of harsh words but I was mesmerised in this case.

That does sound like something she probably learned from someone else, probably parents. A child that young would be more likely to say "Go away."

Hearing it from an adult would surely put me off but not when I heard it from this kid.

Since the child is so young and her words would have surprised you.Children learn some phrases quickly and apply the same in an appropriate manner.

Parents are children's best teacher. She may pick that up from her parents.

Some just want to be left alone, even in their pain.

Children picked up lots from their main carers. I heard funny things like that from 2-3 YO kids. (But I wonder what would become of that kid if she went on with that sort of attitude.)

I doubt if she even knew the meaning of what she said (lol) It made my day as those lisps were music to my ears.

Personally, she is so rude. I might give her striking words, too.

Children are more in touch with their feelings than adults are. When something like that comes out of their mouth you better listen.
