With Avalanche third string goalie Andrew Hammond in net, the Nashville Predators tested him by shooting early and often in game five of the first round Stanley Cup Playoffs series. Hammond was up to the task, however, stopping 44 of Nashville's 45 shots as Colorado defeated the Predators 2-1 in Nashville. The Predators now lead the series 3-2. Nashville took the lead on a Nick Bonino goal midway through the third period, but Colorado, who was out shot in the game 45-28, scored twice late to secure the victory.
