I've never been camping either!

Well I suppose that's not strictly true. I have slept in a tent outside of my friend's house, but with the convenience of a nice, clean toilet nearby, it's not quite the same.
It isn't that I wasn't offered to go camping as a child, but over protective family made it to where I wasn't allowed to go. Of course, I can't say as I truly blame them as I had a condition (now since gone away) that they worried over and didn't want to let me out of their sight.
Anyway, I am going camping for the first time in June and I am excited. Going to a primitive camping ground, though not too primitive since I believe there is a port a potty or something similar.
Now I am assuming that my friend will let me sleep in her tent, but I do need to get myself a sleeping bag, sleeping pad and all other esentials like sunscreen, bug spray, water, snacks etc.
Did I mention I was excited?

Yes its fun to ..... just be nasty, LOL. I went all the time with friends as a child.

I love camping! Okay, I'd prefer a camper over the tent we currently use, but the tent was cheap and we aren't made of money. The kids aren't fond of it.. or so they say. I think overall they do really like it. We tend to stay at campgrounds and state parks so they come equipped with toilets and shower areas we can use. I mean there's only so much "roughing it" I can do!

They have all manner of different camping things now. There's even a "tent city" type thing, where you can connect your tents. I think that would be an awesome thing to be able to do.
There is a place I want to go to, it's a campground but also offers gem mining.

I had a lot of fun. We've already decided that we will go back to this particular site. We had planned to have a total of five of us but luckily we only had four. There was only room for one small tent and one big one. We will have to get a bigger site next time.
I've even suggested a cabin during the colder months.

Well good for you and I hope you really enjoy it. I too have never been camping but I have been to summer camps but slept in bungalows.

That's another thing I have never had the pleasure of experiencing. I didn't go to summer camp's either. Though I suppose I wouldn't have enjoyed them as a child.

I love camping! Sleeping under the stars or in a camper is one of my favorite things since childhood. I would jump at an opportunity to go camping again.
I know you'll have lots of fun.

I am sure I will. If I can think to do so, I'll take a few pictures and share one on mylot when I go. I've been to the area, it's quite beautiful where we will be camping.
