Neverending Pain

My daughter's softball team won tonight. They worked so hard for this win. They have been the underdogs all season, but they win. When we got back to the car, the first person I called to tell about our win was my dad. There was no answer, because he is no longer here. My brother renews his phone service every month because we just can't turn it off. My dad would have love to celebrate with us. I don't think I will ever quit missing him.
We went straight to assisted living, after the game, to see my mom. She was a bit confused tonight and didn't really want to visit, so that didn't last long. That is another kind of pain.
