Rising with the sun

I love my bed. I love to sleep. I nap in the afternoon when my chores are done, and I usually sleep early on evenings too. But I'm also an earlier riser.
Unless I am unwell, I always wake up and get out of bed before the sun rises in the morning. I think it's a throwback from my days in the Caribbean. Many of the older people believed that rising with the sun would guarantee a productive day. Rise and shine, they would say. If you get up late, you won't feel good and that day would be wasted.
I don't necessarily subscribe to the view that you must be an early riser to be productive, but now that it has become a habit for me, I quite like the intimacy of dawn. Once it isn't too cold, I enjoy the feel of getting up on clear days and throwing my windows open to allow the brisk breeze in,. I like to feel the sun, when it's still just warm and gentle, caressing my skin. And I do feel energized by this.
What about you, fellow myLotters, wherever you are in the world, are you early risers? Do you believe in getting up with the sun?

I like the sunset more than the sunrise. I find it more beautiful.
