Hex From a Monk

Now when you think about it I suppose getting something hexed by a monk can be serious business. Today an 800-year-old ruined wall can still be seen on the grounds of a large steelworks in Port Talbot, Wales. This wall is surrounded by a fence and it’s held up by brick buttresses due to an ancient curse. It was in the 16th century that King Henry VIII chose to dissolve the monasteries. One of the local Cistercian monks who was evicted from the Margam Abbey wanted to protect the site and told the new owners that if the wall fell then the entire town would fall with it. Afterward, the townspeople did all they could to protect the wall and even built the steelworks around it. Even the monk who hexed the wall seems to be still around haunting the site. He can be seen in a red habit making sure that ancient wall still stands. We all know that there are people who believe in haunting and those who don’t. I would not be surprised if that monk did still watch over the wall but do you think that if the wall was not protected the entire town would fall? It was so long ago what if the rest of that wall just crumbled?

I don't want to say that I believe in hexes and curses but strange things do happen. It was an elder indigenous chief that put a hex on the carnival. He was not happy that his daughter ran away with her lover. (apparently she was a princess and was to be married by arrangement) Her lover worked and travelled with the carnival. The old chief cursed the carnival saying that everywhere the carnival went, rain will follow. Even to this day, when the carnival comes to town, it rains all week.

I don't believe in that sort of thing but it makes an interesting story.

Whether or not I truly believe I would feel strange knowing about a curse that could say, wipe out the town I live in I guess the idea alone is enough to get it in one's head if they are connected to the hex or curse @JohnRoberts

Not sure if curses are real or not, but this story is interesting.
