In course of time with emergence of British rule that property was converted to a zamindari. The deity was declared as a zamindar and the descendants of the Lt. Kunja Bihari Das Sengupta(my Grandmother-in-law's maternal home) were declared the marfatdars who administered the property as caretaker zamindars on behalf of the deity. The family of the late Kunj Bihari Da Senguptas grew with time and relationships were established in course of which more and more Bengalis belonging to the erstwhile of Lt.Sri Kunj Bihari Das Sengupta village in West Bengal came and settled down in Raghunath Nagar near the temple which is about one and half kilometre from Mahanga by road.
