Day 19 Matthew 9:9-13 Matthew 9:9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. 10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eats your Master with publicans and sinners? 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Have you been scrutinized for everything you do, and questioned about your actions? Jesus called Matthew, a tax collector, to be one of his followers. When he did, and Jesus was then seen by Pharisees eating with tax collectors and sinners, they questioned his disciples concerning his actions. However, it was Jesus, not his disciples, who answered the Pharisees. His answer seemed to appeal to their ego, when he called them righteous, as they were righteous in their own eyes. As Christians, you know you are a sinner. You know the state of your sin when Jesus called you to be his child, and you know Jesus will not turn down an invitation to eat with you, and in so doing, will also feed you with his Word. Many people in the world don’t believe they sin or believe in sin. When people don’t believe in sin, they don’t believe they need saving. It is hard for those people to see their sin sick condition and call on Jesus to heal them. They are like the Pharisees who think they are above whatever Jesus offered tax collectors and sinners. However, you know there are none righteous, and everyone is in need of salvation. Psalm 14:1 < The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that does good. 2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. 3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one. The Pharisees put themselves in an unapproachable position because they didn’t believe they were sinners. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (KJV) When people realize their sin sick condition, Jesus can heal them, and in healing them, also save them. Let’s pray: Father, I know I am a sinner. I know I need salvation to heal my sin sick condition. Help me face my need for you, and never put myself in a superior position, believing I am better than others. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. I sin and never pretended that I am high and mighty. I repent. Thank you, Valerie.

So true. The verse alludes me ATM, but a sin is anything you know is wrong but you do it anyway. :( Everyone sins, it doesn't make it right. Nor does doing "small sins" make it less. Every sin is a stain on the soul and a only Jesus/ god can cleanse. Amen!

I think it can allude to all of us at one point or another. No matter how hard we try, we can't get away from sin. We can only pray for God's cleansing forgiveness. Have a blessed day.
