Key Health Problem - Chronic Dehydration

I don't know what has been going wrong with me. I haven't had such an allergy problem before, and I haven't had this much anxiety for years. It could be any number of the factors I have mentioned before, and each has helped me little by little. I even went to the allergist yesterday, but after poking and prodding me, they want to put me on medication and so forth, rather than fixing the underlying problem. I guess these people are also inferior to tell me what I want to know. So, I do know one thing that I do suffer from a lot, and that is chronic dehydration. I have to drink roughly 1.1 gallons of water a day, and that certainly doesn't happen regularly. It's very difficult to consume that much water each day. However, I'm thinking that a lot of my health problems are due to this and this mainly. In a report I read, dehydration heightens allergies because the water can't dilute the natural histamines in the body, so the body goes out of balance, and the slightest allergen can set it off, even when you never had a problem before. It can also cause sinus problems and congestion, because the mucus is too thick to move properly. And it causes anxiety, which in turn heightens allergies. The lost of electrolytes is just as bad, because the body needs those to function, and I lost a lot over the weekend (even forgetting to take my magnesium on one of those days, really depleting my system). Rehydration isn't easy either. From what I read, it can take 1 to 4 weeks to rehydrate appropriately... and that's assuming you can consume what your body needs each day. However, assuming I can do it, it should negate my various allergies and other difficulties. For now, I will continue to eat a balanced diet and get my vitamins and minerals to where I need them, but will also strive for 1.1 gallons of water a day. My allergy test is in 2 weeks, so I need to be able to last an entire week next week without any antihistamines in my system, to see what I'm really allergic to. I'll need to get as hydrated as possible to do that.

I keep a 1 litre bottle of water beside me at all times during the day. I fill it twice a day, but I should really drink more. I'm working on it. Your right, it is difficult, but I try not to consume too much at once. Two to three litres over a 24 hr period should be adequate.

@Starmaiden Too much at once is challenging for the kidney, yes, that's to be avoided. @OneOfMany People buy Gatorade and Powerade when they can simply add salt and sugar into water and get a similar thing. Well, at least Powerade seems to be better because it contains magnesium. True, it's believable so many people are dehydrated: a diet rich in salt and carbohydrates, poor in fruits and vegetables.

Whenever i make an effort to drink more water i usually spend my day running back and forth to the toilet. It might be good for me but it does nothing for my productivity at work!!

Before rest, I would like to breathe properly for a few days. The weekend was too much work, that was for sure. Especially working half of the day in the rain (getting wet and cold in the process).

@OneOfMany Spring also and that brings out allergies. You sure you just not allergic to something?

@crossbones27 Well, it would be okay if it were just that, but this is on a ridiculous ongoing scale that started back in March. It triggered my anxiety and PTSD, which really makes it hard to get rid of.

Keep water bottles with U and sip a little at a time throughout the day!!! Water is what I need to, instead of so many sodas!!!!!

Yes, I usually keep a gallon jug next to me. But lately I have been forgetting (I don't actually get thirsty, so I can forget entirely). Soda does the opposite... but I drink it from time to time.

It was the dehydration. I've gotten much better. I also found out everything I'm allergic to, and it was a lot of the foods I was eating. Currently I have a cold... so that's certainly not helping. lol

Sounds like the key is to drink as much water as humanly possible every day!!

I managed to drink a full gallon today, but that's going to be difficult every day! Still, if it will cure me, I'm going to do it.

Have you been checked for diabetes? That could have to do with the water issue.

My A1C is really good and I control my blood sugar content. And in Diabetes it is different. You get thirsty and drink and drink. I never get thirsty at all. I also looked up the symptoms, and they don't match at all. But they do match to dehydration. Two days into my increased hydration and my allergies are starting to lessen and I didn't even take any antihistamines today.

Why do you have to drink so much? Isn't that the same as four litres? The recommended consumption is only two litres. Have you had your kidneys checked? If your kidneys aren't working properly they can cause all sorts of problems. Husband has rehydration powder in the cupboard for when he needs it. You can buy it from the chemist. Have you tried it?

Gatorade replenishes electrolytes, so it is certainly helpful in the process.

When one has an allergy, it is not an interesting experience as they have to be very careful. Before you go for the tests, just be careful
