Born in Rameswaram, Dr Kalam, says, in his book 'Wings of Fire' from where I got the details of his biography. His childhood he says in the book 'is very precious to him'. This he sais as each and every achievement as a child to him was like triumphs or tribulations. His remembers his school days as his friend's father, the Rameswaram temple's head priest supported their friendship and also so to it that he was not mentally tortured just because he was a Muslim. However, he did odd jobs to pay his school fees. Financial strain was also the reason he turned out to be a vegetarian. His financial constraints continued up till his college days. Keep reading and I shall load the rest. The witch of G/4 and her family members keep deleting my post, so you may miss a few links and I shall answer to your comments and chats. ,,

Abdul Kalam was a great human being indeed. Being a Muslim he was a regular reader of Bhagavat Gita. He lived a simple life even after getting the position of President of India. Big salute for him.
