This was, for me, the last 'good' album put out by this band, although millions of people will disagree with that statement. It certainly wasn't their most successful, only reaching #29 on the Billboard charts, and 4 of the next 5 albums released by them would chart higher. But this album showed a 'commercial' turning point for the band, and I wasn't real keen on the direction they were going (the band Chicago did something similar during the Peter Cetara years). Say You Love Me or Say Goodnight? I chose to say 'goodnight' to them. REO Speedwagon - You Can Tune A Piano But You Can't Tuna Fish

I think this album became their "formula," and after songs like "Keep On Loving You" and "Can't Fight This Feeling (to Throw Up)" they went too much for the power ballads. But with "Time for Me to Fly" they got the "power ballad" right. They should've left it there. I agree with you. But I did like Hi Infidelity.

@JohnRoberts -- I'm not much of a fan, either, in terms of "gotta have every album." I did have this one and Hi Infidelity, and I saw them live on the Tuna Fish tour in 1978 (they were part of my second-ever rock concert). I'm like JJ: I'd rather hear "Golden Country" than "Can't Fight This Puking Feeling" any day.

I love REO Speedwagon! There's few songs by them I don't, if any! One of the greatest classic ballad and rock bands of all time, and very glad they're still around! :)

The ballads are why I stopped listening. I preferred the era when they rocked a bit harder.

@JolietJake That's understandable. One of the things that I liked is that whether they were doing hard rock or the ballads, they were flexible and able to go back and forth between them fairly easily even in concert. They wrote most if not all of their own songs unlike a lot of groups (and most of what we have left today that passes for rock bands). I suppose one of the factors for their success is that they were able to do all of that whereas today's bands, without badmouthing them too much...are limited to the genre and the music angle they are situated or feel the most comfortable with. Then there's the lip synchers that don't even sing live in concert (don't even get me started on the Milli Vanillis out there lol)

@itepuppy And don't get me started on the auto-tune bunch I'm more of a 'Golden Country/157 Riverside Avenue' fan that a 'Keep On Loving You/Time For Me To Fly' guy.
