A female puppy is thankful that a concerned citizen called the police after the person saw a female puppy inside an auto that was locked in a parking lot five days ago in Florida. Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) deputies Raymond Matheny, and deputy trainee Jennifer Waters answered the call to rescue the puppy who was panting due to the extreme heat being inside an auto. Since the owner of the puppy was nowhere to be found, the deputies broke open the window so the puppy could be relieved of his troubles. The deputies then gave the puppy water and placed her in the shade so she could cool off. The owner of the puppy was arrested by the deputies and charged with animal cruelty. I know that this story is bittersweet but I cannot win them all.

You did win. That was a great bit of justice. The dog was the victor. You know, these are the stories that make my day. I appreciate you for sharing this good little doggy survivor story here on myLot.

I hate to see dogs shut in cars if the weather is too hot. I once called the police. I have no idea why people continue to do that..how out of touch can you be?

That is true. I guess some dog owners lost their common sense.

It is not clear how long the dog was inside the auto. I guess about 10 minutes.
