Be nice, he could be your cousin!

After doing DNA tests through Ancestry and 23 and Me, and also uploading my results to My Heritage, I can see that I have thousands and thousands of distant cousins from all over the world! It makes me think, when 2 strangers have an accident or get irritated with each other for some other reason, there’s a chance they could be cousins! And in reality, if we could make our family trees go back to the first people on earth, we are actually ALL related to each other. So we should be nice to everyone, don’t you think?

That really is fascinating. I have been into genealogy for a while and have been thinking about doing one of those tests. Through my research we have found some long lost cousins through the years, scattered about the country. There must be many, many more I don't know about.

I was raised to be nice to everyone regardless if the person is a distant relative or not.

Going by surname it is unlikely unless we have the common surname

I totally agree. It pays to be nice to everyone. No need for nastiness, since life is so short.

my surname--- unique, so all persons with the same surname as mine are interrelated and may be our distant relatives.
