I just came to know from a doctor that spinach should compulsorily be taken in our daily diet. But most of them don't prefer to take it daily. The doctor suggested taking at least twice a week. Also, there were many types of spinach. One should eat all the types available in their location. There should be a regular schedule on this.
Types: crinkly savoy spinach, smooth-leaf spinach, and semi-savoy spinach(from google)

There are several different kinds of plants which are often called 'spinach'. The true spinach is an annual plant but there is a variety of chard which is often referred to as 'perpetual spinach' because the leaves can be cooked in the same way and taste very similar.
Like all green leafy vegetables, spinach contains plenty of vitamins and beneficial minerals, Weight for weight, spinach contains more iron than ground beef (as in a hamburger) but because it also contains oxalic acid which combines with the iron to make the compound ferric oxalate, which cannot be used by the body, it is not such a good source of iron as was once supposed.
Oxalic acid is what gives spinach the slightly bitter taste which is appreciated by many (but also disliked by many children). Too much of it can be dangerous (which is why one should never eat rhubarb leaves and should severely limit the amount of sorrel eaten). It is certainly not good to eat too much of it, especially if one has liver or kidney disorders.
Any so-called 'doctor' who suggests that spinach should be 'compulsory' or even eaten daily does not know what he is talking about and you should discount ANY 'health advice' he gives!
