What kind of environment do you need for a good sleep?

I don't like to sleep with lamps or even dim lights but my mum needs a small light to sleep. Now she's sleeping nicely whereas I am unable to.lol. What to do now.. I tried eyepatch but not so good And I also need soundproof room as well as no- light- room. Both.. Actually, I need pin drop silence. And if my sleep is disturbed once, I have to struggle sleeping again. Problem problem!!! Is there anyone else like me too?

I hate sleeping in total darkness. When I turn off the television I turn on a night light.

I think I'm somewhat like you. I can't sleep if there are repetitive noises like snoring, a dog barking, a faucet dripping -- you get the idea. I can't even handle the small noise of a ticking clock or an electric heater or blanket switching on and off. Now I use a CD of ocean sounds to help me relax and sleep and drown out other noises. If that doesn't do the trick I turn on my white noise machine that covers up the noises that annoy me.

@ShifaLk I actually liked my falling rain CD better, but I wore it out.

@bagarad I really didn't know that this kind of sound really helps but I have seen some apps which make this kind of sounds... if you use a smartphone, you can try using those apps for good sleep and relaxation

I also like a dark room to sleep well too. But I could tolerate room with some light but my sleep would be lighter than when I sleep in a dark room. I guesd you need to sleep in a separate room so you can have agood night sleep that is it’s possible.

@ShifaLk well if you have your own room then it’s better that you can choose your preferred sleeping setup.

Nope not me, I can usually sleep with a brass band playing in the room. But light, I am not as fond of.

The lights should be turned off and there should be no noise at all, then only I can sleep.Otherwise it is difficult to get sleep.

i just need to be left alone. if i fall asleep with the tv on, leave it on. if i fall asleep with the light on, leave it on. just leave me and the surrounding environment alone.

Sleep experts say that for the best quality sleep your room should be totally dark, totally quiet, and cool but not too cold.
