Bedtime stories

It's not easy for me to fall asleep at night. Even though my body is really really tired it's not guarantee that I will fall asleep right away when I lay my head on my pillow. I used to read fairytales or short stories before sleep when I was a kid. But now I don't read as much as I used to. I wanted to but my hands already tired of working (sewing) all day and don't feel like giving them extra work to hold my smartphone/ipad or books. About last year I started to download audio books of fairytales, and I really enjoying them. The story teller is different for each stories which makes it more interesting. I only need to turn off the light and listen 2 or 3 stories to make me fall asleep. The story teller's voice is like an alarm for my body n mind to start relax and rest. I have listened to each stories like 30 times but I never feel bored and works every time to make me fall asleep.

That seems like a good way to retire to bed. I start snoring as soon as I hit my pillow. But i do take out some time to read good things and listening to soothing music before I hit my pillow.

The only way I can fall asleep right when I hit my bed is when I stay woke for 2 days or after took meds, especially nyquil other than that I'm struggle. My mind will keep wandering to many places thinking about what happened today or what my plan for the next day and many other random things. I sometimes play some music but I found myself ended up singing along or if it's instrumental I will still find something to think about what I heard Well there actually other way. When it's raining I am automaticly sleepy no matter what I do

I have finished Harry Potter audiobooks narrates by Stephen Fry and Jim Dale. I prefer the Stephen Fry one, he narrates every chatacter just like what I have in my mind they should be. I found Game Of Thrones audiobooks as well but still haven't listen to it, and I don't know who narrates it. I'm not into LOTR stories but I like The Hobit so may be I will look for The Hobit audiobooks.

@mrswhitfield I listened to youtube's GOT narration, they are each of the character, for example the House of Lanisters was narrated by Tywin Lanister (Walter Charles Dance) and House of Starks, by Rob (Richard Madden)

Nice way to help yourself to sleep. I'm glad this way works for you. On my part, I just downloaded an audio of different raindrop effects and it helps me to relax and fall asleep easily too.

Awww raindrops sound mix with thunder actually helps too but I lost my raindrops audio that 4 hours long. I don't remember where I download or maybe I converted from youtube. But for sure when it's raining I am automaticly sleepy, no matter what I do or where I am. If I am at home and it's raining I will crawl into my bed no matter what I do I will stop

That's nice! I remember when I was younger my parents are telling stories before I go to sleep to. Sometimes my mom is singing a lullaby so I can sleep.
