From Hopewell Virginia comes a wonderful story where a male dog named "Axis" was barking for someone to rescue him from a ravine.
A concerned citizen had contacted the Hopewell Animal Control and the Hopewell Fire Department to report that a dog had been barking for three days after he was lost leaving the home of his owner Bill Lunsford.
The two groups looked around to locate Axis but they were not able to locate where the dog was located.
Hopewell Fire Acting Battalion Fire Chief Matt Crocker on the fourth day went looking for Axis while he was driving his auto. When he heard Axis barking, he went out of his auto and took Axis to the home of his owner.
Bill did tell his story of how the Hopewell Fire Department were able to reunite him with his best friend. Axis is alive and well.
