Which insurance policy is really important

Have you taken any insurance policy,I'm thinking of advising my dad to take life insurance for now. What do you think about that,or is there one we need to take that is much better?

I think the bare minimum should be at least a life, term and medical insurance that one must buy to get themselves covered.
