Racism Everywhere

People that see racism everywhere are racists. What I mean by that is the negative effects of the American media, schools, government, etc constantly pushing the idea that a racist is right around every corner. If you're lead to believe that a certain group of people hate you, then you're likely to end up hating them right back. And it becomes a vortex of hate. The effect is so strong that even people who have never experienced racism in their life believe it's everywhere. But I'm here to tell you that it's not. Yes, despite what your professors, politicians, and slick newscasters tell you, racism is rare. How rare is it? I'm 40 and I have lived all over the U. S. East, West, North, and South. I have met thousands and thousands of people. Black, white, yellow, tan, gay, straight, etc. The total amount of racist people I have met is 1 white guy, 2 black girls, and about 10 black guys. That's right. The number is so low that I can actually count them on my hands(edit: and toes). I even remember the people, because they stood out to me. Why did they stand out? What made them so unique that I remember them, when I can't even remember half the people I meet. They were racists. And that is rare. Another thing to keep in mind is that people change. So those people that I met who were racist then, might not be racist today. Usually it's circumstances that cause people to hate certain people. The truth is most 99.99999% of people are not racist or bigots in any way. The sooner people wake up and realize that, the sooner we can start moving forward. We're chasing ghosts trying to solve problems that do not exist. Also systematic racism is not a thing anymore.

I do agree with you, most racism is just media bs. For your average Joe America racism just is not a problem. If people want to see the real world they need to turn off all media including and especially television news. Not saying it doesn't exist just that it isn't the 'big thing' we are led to believe.

It's a divide and conquer tactic, and people keep falling for it.

I just believe that people are more open-minded now than they were before plus the fact that people get to interact with people from different races, colors, ethnicity and etc and so you get to know them and basically find that they are awesome people.

It's true. Even if someone were raised to be a racist, like some claim, it would only take a decent person to change their mind. Once most people see that you're not a threat they'll embrace you. I've experienced all kinds of people. And most are too busy worrying about their own lives to find the time to hate people for no reason. There are plenty of good people out there of all races. People need to stop living in fear of each other and start helping each other.

@redhotpogo Well, thank media for all those hatred on issues such as racism and an exaggerated one too. I agree that people are too busy with their lives and how to get by everyday than talk trash about other races. I think most people now have common sense and is not stupid.

I agree..In my 62 years on this planet, I can only count five people who said something to me that I thought racist.. Two of those are from my own race.. lol .. I think discrimination is everywhere .. And people discriminate others for all sorts of reasons.. .

I have to agree on that. Mostly I've witnessed discrimination based on money or what people think you have. For some reason people think that having more makes them better people.

I agree. I know I'm not racist, and I've never met anyone who is, so the numbers are low.

How am I lucky? I'm not saying there is no racism. I'm just saying the problem has been greatly exaggerated. The majority of people get along.

Just think of this. The colour of our blood is red. There are primarily 4 or 5 blood groups in this world. Imagine, If a high cast person or a racist meet with an accident and requires urgent blood. Upon treatment would they still ask to the doctor or blood bank ,"what is the caste or race of this blood, which has injected in me?

Very true. Reminds me of that Dave Chappell skit when he played a blind black kkk member. He hated black people so much, that upon learning that he was black himself divorced his wife and called her a wh*** for marrying a black man.

There will always be those few racists out there. No stopping that. We can only stop them from spreading by promoting love and unity instead of division.

I see racism as a huge and continuing problem in the US. I have met plenty of racists, even in my liberal state. I let them know what I think too.

A liberal state full of racists? The irony. Maybe I'm just not attracting the racists. Maybe I am living in some kind of bubble.

@JamesHxstatic ah. I've never lived in a blue state. Great. And now I have that stupid blue song stuck in my head.

@redhotpogo If you don't see racism, then I think you are. No there are many of us liberals here, but we have our share of racists too. We are always a "blue" state.

Playing the racist-card has been played so old and tiring. It's one of the hypnotic mantra in the Master Plan: "Production of unaware Compliant Citizenry". Times are changing for the greater good since June 2016. Smart people of different color and ethnicity are beggining to wake up to the truth: that unity of the American people in the pursuit of happiness, peace and prosperity is what makes America great again. Impacting the world. Trash that racist-card game. No one's playing it anymore. They have got to stop!

Yes, race baiting will soon be a thing of the past, as more and more blacks/minorities are leaving the liberal plantation.

What the media is attempting tom do is make it true by repeating it over and over. And the schools are guilty too.
