A teenager is being called a hero for saving a toddler who was in a pool

Haylei McGillis is being called a hometown heroine in Indianapolis after she climbed over a fence at the Arbor Woods Apartments on Sunday evening. Haylei is being credited for acting on her instincts to save a three year old girl who was inside a swimming pool at the apartment that was closed to outsiders. A group of young children were at the swimming pool when the three old girl went into the pool as her friends were throwing a hose so the three year old girl could use it as a floating device. Haylei then jumped into the swimming pool to rescue the three year old since she was having a tough time trying to stay afloat. Haylei was able to save the three year old by getting her out of the swimming pool when she spit out the water that she swallowed while she was in the swimming pool. The three year old girl is okay after her health scare. Haylei's mom is proud that her daughter used her swimming skills she learned as a child to good use.
