What Time Era Would You Preferred To Have Lived

It definitely would not be now. I just do not think I like this era that much. Seems every day life becomes more complicated in ways I do not like. There is certain things I like. Video Games are pretty cool with how real they are getting in a fantasy way of no consequences.
Sure, this era allows us to be way more lazy than any other era with everything at our fingertips, but at a costly price. I mean people trip because I do not always drive to the corner store all the time. You walked, what the hell is wrong with you?
Its a lot more mental and to me a lot less freedom than my childhood days of the 80's and early 90's. I am not sure as to why, but maybe that is my fault for being connected to the internet and living in the city. Hey, homie has to eat too.
I do not know, just think I prefer the world when it was a lot less crowded and little less technologically advance where people could not Google you before you even met. I am thinking I would have liked the early 1800's with my mindset. I am trying to think of a time when we were not at war, but we are always at war in this country.
See, in those days, one could hide out in the wilderness and escape society. Sure people were off their rockers and many bands of native tribes that would probably see this white boy as hostile, but me would gets along with them. So I would not have to worry and they would actually give me warning when threats were coming and vice versa. Plus, we would keep each other well fed.
Would not be a whole lot of use for money because just make things yourself without the government and corporate America telling you, no that is our land you have to buy it or pay rent. I know they did do it that way back then, but could not keep track of all that wilderness. Would actually still have natural resources in good supply.
What about you? Is this your favorite era or do you think you would have liked to live in other era More?

I hear you on that one. I think I would prefer this time also if I were in your shoes. Not much of a good history, and at least we are getting a bit better on that. At least most people are. Forgive our President. Sure takes a damn long time though

@crossbones27 I am happy about the changes, but I am aware that it will never be completely removed.

@crossbones27 , That was the life indeed when i could dive down to the bottom of the pond we had to see every fish clearly including those ground fish which we used to refer them as sand fish! The water used to be so clear and clean!

not sure about the past - more likely to direct my hopes to the future. There never was a true golden age

You are right never was, I think this countries closest was right after World War 2 and was short lived and also only some were able to experience that because segregation and all that. A golden age for the world, wonder what that would look like? I guess if we could spring ourselves in the past we could spring ourselves in the future. I just think I might be more scared of the future than the past with the way things are going these days, but maybe my feeling is off or I am just overreacting to maybe it is not as bad as it seems. Maybe I watch to much news.

@arthurchappell Indeed, how does the FBI do it? See all that craziness out there and remain somewhat sane?

It does do that, I think my only complaint is they are trying to fix the broke parts of the system with more broke parts if you know what I mean.

I would have loved being a teenager in the 1960s because that is the time when a lot of my favorite oldies came out and I think it was a fun time for teenagers. Then I would have been an adult in the 1960s and perhaps I could have gone to see Woodstock in person. On the other hand, then I would be much, much too old now and I like being the way I am now so there are a lot of plusses and minuses but as they say even if someone said they could send you back it is never possible to turn the whole world around.

That's a good point, there was no good music in the 1800's other than little folk songs. I would miss my Music. Maybe I will switch to being born in late 50's that way could be a kid in the 60's , but my luck probably be drafted to Vietnam, or even worse do something dumb like Volunteer.
Never could turn the world around but we could pick the winning lottery tickets and become rich.
